Yes they are very different!  A resident's association (RA) is an organization created by a land developer; in Evergreen the developer is Genstar.

Your Evergreen Resident's Association has the following characteristics and responsibilities:

• Membership is compulsory and the requirement to pay an annual fee is collected by the RA through a caveat on title.
• The RA must manage and maintain the "marketing" amenities (entrance signage, ornamental parks and ponds, boulevard landscaping and buildings) of a development that the City will not accept responsibility to maintain.
