A heads up that construction on the 162 Avenue connection will be starting in either late July or early August.
Construction on this project will be completed by the end of the year, but the connection will remain closed until the SWRR opens to traffic in late 2021. During construction, residents may notice periodic increases in construction traffic in the area. It is also important to note that access from westbound 162 Avenue to Bridlecrest Boulevard S.W. will remain open until the SWRR is completed. Once the SWRR is open to traffic, the left turn from 162 Avenue to Bridlecrest Boulevard S.W. will be permanently closed. A noise study was conducted and determined that a noise barrier was required along the south side of the 162 Avenue extension and that will also be constructed during this time.
Here is a link to the project design, and the noise barrier is identified in this as well.
