We are currently flooding our outdoor ice rink. The ice is not consistently thick enough to handle skaters so our maintenance rope is up across the benches. Please stay off the rink until we take down the rope. Unfortunately, overly anxious skaters have already damaged the liner which is making our flooding effort more complicated.
The straight line you see in the lower right corner of the picture below is a tape line where our dedicated team of volunteers put together two of our liners. This is a strong indicator the ice is not thick enough to handle skaters. Our flooding efforts are weather dependent. We typically require -8C or colder overnight to perform flooding. Environment Canada is predicting warm weather for most of next week so it may be another week or more before we are open.
