We, at Cardel Rec South, are offering new social, recreational and educational programs geared towards our community seniors. Your assistance in helping get our message out would be greatly appreciated.
Pickleball: Come to the Cardel Court gymnasium (located past the YMCA member services desk and Made Foods café) for drop-in pickleball. Bring your own equipment or share ours. Cost: $5.00 per person
50+ Non Instructional Sticks and Pucks: Designed specifically for those looking for extra ice time to practice their hockey skills and/or get in a little extra exercise. It is not the intent of this program to have games but rather an opportunity to hone your skills. As this is a drop in program, goalies may or may not be in attendance. Full equipment is MANDATORY. Cost: $5.00 per person
Ice Skating: Strap on the ice skates and come for a twirl in a non-threatening environment. Skating is an excellent exercise providing you with a cardio workout while stretching out those muscles! Wearing helmets for this activity is strongly recommended. Cost: $3.75 per person
Social Program: Come drop in for a coffee or juice to visit with your community neighbors and meet new friends. This informal event takes place in the Flames Meeting Room which is located on the second level across from Arena 3. Specific activities are up to you and could include card games, puzzle building, Cost: $2.00 per person
Educational Programming: We have teamed up with Home Instead Senior Care to develop three informative sessions relevant to our more “mature” community members. There is NO COST to attend these programs but as space is limited we ask you to call 403-984-9225 to register.
For Recreation Program opportunities open for all ages, please check out social media (Facebook & Twitter), our website (www.cardelrec.com), phone in (403-201-8652), or drop in for a visit and pick up our Program Guide.
If you have additional programming ideas, please give Sonya, our program coordinator, a shout at either 403-201-8652 or email@example.com
CECA participated in the Swan Evergreen Village by Origin Spring Market. Thank you to the team of volunteers.
Dear Calgary Transit Rider,
The City of Calgary is investing in new and improved Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and the routes that link into it. Together, the new BRT routes and supporting routes will significantly shape the way the transit network operates in many communities.
Calgary Transit is reviewing existing bus services to develop a more effective and efficient bus network in Calgary. The goal of this review is to increase connectivity, reliability and efficiency and ensure customers can get to where they need to go. The review will be based on the following new BRT routes:
The changed or new bus routes mean better connections and convenience for transit riders. These routes fill important gaps from the east side to the west side of the City and better connect riders to major destinations.
With the North and South Crosstown and 17 Avenue S.E. BRTs starting service this fall, there will be dozens of revisions to existing bus routes across the City that connect to them.
The City Needs Your Input.
Starting in April, we are collecting input from riders on the proposed revisions. We want to know what you like about these changes, what you think could be improved and any additional information you feel is important for Calgary Transit to consider.
We Need You To Tell Us:
Tues April 24 Marlborough Park Community Association | 6021 Madigan Dr. N.E. | 6-8 p.m.
Wed April 25 Remington YMCA | 108 Quarry Park Rd. S.E. | 4-6p.m.
Thurs April 26 Dover Community Association | 3133 30 Ave S.E. | 6-8 p.m.

Tues May 1 St Andrews Heights Community Association | 2504 13 Ave. N.W. | 6-8 p.m.
KGL Constructors will be driving piling south of 146 Avenue and Fish Creek Boulevard S.W. The piling is required to build a new a bridge that will span the northbound and southbound lanes of the Southwest Calgary Ring Road. Once complete, the bridge will connect Fish Creek Boulevard with the portion of 37 Street that is south of 146 Avenue.
