MohamdPresidentHello amazing community of Evergreen. This is Mohamd. We are a family of 6 plus an adorable all black cat called… you guessed it (or maybe not!), GHOST! I do two jobs at the same time, civil/geotechnical engineering and volunteering.
Myself and all members of my family are heavily engaged in volunteering where we find volunteering as an opportunity to serve the community, engage with people, and have fun. I like reading (or listening to books), ping pong, and soccer (or the real football ). I am a longtime fan of Liverpool. |
Bruno BoccaccioV.P. & Volunteer DirectorHi fellow board members, my name is Bruno, I am the Volunteer Director and Vice-
President of CECA (Calgary Evergreen Community Association). I have been on board for 4 years. I moved from Montreal to Calgary in 1989 and lived in Woodbine, Somerset, now in Evergreen for the past 4 years. I came out of retirement after 3 years to work for Cerebral Palsy (CP) as their Volunteer Coordinator. CP is a non-profit organization who work with children with disabilities of all ages. Prior to working for them I volunteered for them, for 17 years. I also volunteer at the Calgary food bank and just celebrated my 5-year anniversary. I have volunteered on many boards (condo and community) in the past, and now with CECA where I volunteer at all our events and have assisted in the senior’s programs. I look forward to working with all of you! |
Su LiyaSponsorship DirectorBefore I landed in Canada, I was on the other side of the classroom as a university professor, specializing in student recruitment and doubling up as a friendly neighborhood student advisor. I thrived on the buzz of student life and always found myself knee-deep in various campus activities. When not shaping young minds, you could find me breaking a sweat in the gym, as fitness is my jam. I'm a proud mom of two amazing girls and an avid outdoor enthusiast, always seeking the next adventure.
My work in Evergreen Community Association has been an opening door to a whole new world filled with inclusivity, tolerance, and an excitingly diverse and vibrant atmosphere. It's like a breath of fresh air! I'm eager to keep making a difference and helping to turn our community into an even warmer and more welcoming place. |
AnyaNewsletter/E-Newsletter EditorHello Evergreen! I grew up playing in Fish Creek park with my brother and love this area. My family enjoys being out in the community: playing with friends, skating at the rink, climbing on all the playgrounds, and just generally running around outside. It’s awesome to be able to walk the kids to school and have so many things nearby. At home we love music, puzzles, legos, books, and playing with our big fluffy dog.
I joined the CECA Board in the latter part of 2023. Volunteering for the Community Association, I hope to get to know our community better and help to bring more programs and amenities here as we have grown so much. It would be wonderful to get more kids programs into our community, especially neuro-spicy friendly ones. Excited to get to know more neighbours and see what we can do to make our community even better! |

My name is Jhermi Mehta, and I’ve had the privilege of volunteering with the Calgary Evergreen Community Association (CECA) since October 2024 as the Membership Director. As someone who thrives on meeting new people and forming meaningful, long-lasting connections, volunteering with CECA has been a deeply rewarding way to give back to the community that my family and I have called home for many years. The inspiration to volunteer became even more significant after I became a Chiari warrior. Battling this malformation was a life-altering experience that made me realize how precious and fleeting life can be. It strengthened my desire to contribute to the lives of others, and volunteering became a meaningful way for me to give back and make a difference. Beyond my role with CECA, I enjoy unwinding in my spare time with a good Netflix binge. My taste in shows and movies is quite eclectic—some of my favorites include Cobra Kai, Maid, Rookie Blue, and Virgin River. I’m also a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which I find captivating and deeply engaging. When it comes to books, I occasionally indulge in reading. One standout for me is The Road to Christmas: A Sweet Holiday Romance Novel by Sheila Roberts, which I read in early 2024. It's a delightful page-turner that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a heartwarming read. I look forward to continuing my journey with CECA, supporting our vibrant Evergreen community, and connecting with more amazing individuals along the way! |
