A Weekend of Dedication: Celebrating Our Amazing Volunteers
This past weekend was a true testament to the spirit of community and the power of volunteerism.
A special shoutout goes to Kevin and Doug, two of our long-time, dedicated volunteers, who rolled up their sleeves and got to work on an important repair project. They carefully removed the damaged siding from the shed, replaced it with new materials, and reinstalled the remaining sections—restoring both function and appearance. Their effort ensures that our shared spaces remain safe and well-maintained for everyone to enjoy.
But the work didn’t stop there.
With the season coming to a close, the community Ice rink was also dismantled—an effort that takes time, coordination, and commitment. Thanks to the helping hands involved, this transition was smooth and efficient.
It’s volunteers like Kevin and Doug who make a lasting difference. Their dedication, reliability, and willingness to step up—year after year—are what keep our community thriving.
To both of you: thank you for your hard work and continued support. You set an inspiring example for us all.

Greetings Residents and Volunteers,
We’re excited to share that we are nearing approval from the City for the construction of a 10' x 14' storage shed and a 20' x 30' stage at our community park (1150 Everridge Dr SW, next to Marshall Springs High School).
We are currently seeking volunteers from the community who may be interested in helping us bring this project to life. Construction is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th and Sunday May 17th with additional dates if needed. Work will begin each day at 9 AM start or earlier and continue based on progress and availability. All skill levels are welcome—your time and support would be greatly appreciated.
The shed will be a wood structure with vinyl siding and asphalt shingle roofing, and the stage will consist of wood planks, both built on cement blocks. If you have tools such as hammers, circular saws, cordless drills, or screwdrivers, please feel free to bring them along.
Food, non-alcoholic beverages, and gloves will be provided for all volunteers. Depending on participation and weather conditions, we aim to complete the project within one or two weekends.
If you’re interested in volunteering, please reply to this email: [email protected]

CECA Casino Fundraising Event – A Successful Community Effort
The CECA Casino Fundraising Event, held on April 3 & 4, 2026 at Elbow River Casino, was a tremendous success. This important fundraising initiative would not have been possible without the incredible support and dedication of our community volunteers.
Over the course of the two-day event, many of our residents generously volunteered their time across multiple shifts, helping ensure the smooth operation of the casino activities. The event also provided a wonderful opportunity for residents to connect, meet fellow community members, and build new friendships.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Advisors and casino staff for their guidance, coordination, and support throughout the event. Their assistance, combined with the enthusiasm and commitment of our volunteers, made the experience both enjoyable and well organized. CECA was also pleased to provide meals for all volunteers during the event.
The funds received from this casino fundraiser, expected later this year, will play a significant role in supporting and enhancing CECA’s existing programs, events, and future community initiatives for our residents.
On behalf of CECA, thank you once again to every volunteer who contributed their time and effort to make this event a success. We truly appreciate your continued support and look forward to our next casino fundraising event, anticipated in the first quarter of 2028.
